Kara's brother embezzled thirty thousand dollars from Slade Westin. Only able to come up with half, Kara hopes that if she gives Slade 15 K, he won't press charges against her brother. Her very ill mother wouldn't live through her brother going to prison. Instead, Slade approaches Kara with a much more intriguing offer—marriage. Slade finds himself immediately attracted to the beautiful and submissive Kara. More than that, he feels very protective of her. He hates the fact that her own brother has made her feel responsible for cleaning up his mess. For the first time in three years, Slade's dominant nature has arisen, both in his heart and in his soul. Slade devises a plan to seduce Kara while at the same time helping her brother out of this mess.
Although I love a great many things about HIS PERFECT SUBMISSIVE, I found myself not able to connect to Kara. I sympathized with her plight and I know she had actual feelings for Slade throughout the story, but she just didn't wow me like most female characters do. She's beautiful, sensual and just a sweet, down home kind of girl. To me, Slade seemed like too alpha of a character for her. He was dominating as hell and she was just too meek for my taste. The romance that blooms between them did make my heart melt, however. Slade is gorgeous and definitely a man most women would love to have seducing them into submissiveness. I did enjoy how Kara and Slade came together. Saving her brother by marrying Slade was an intriguing storyline and it really kept this story going. The sensual scenes between Slade and Kara were hot and sometimes poignant. I am very interested in checking out more of Alyssa Aarons work in the future.
